description: "Free credit, what you're billed for, and how to find your invoice history."

simple-plm bills per-org for the resources your tenant pod actually uses. Settings → Billing has the live numbers; this page covers the model.

:::note[Currently in alpha — no charges]
While simple-plm is in alpha, **billing is bypassed** for every org. The dashboard still shows what your usage *would* cost, so you can plan. When billing turns on, owners will receive 30 days' notice via email and an in-app banner.

## Where to find it

Settings → **Billing** (only visible to org owners). The page shows:

- Current month's accrued cost.
- Remaining free credit.
- Pod uptime and storage usage broken out.
- Past invoices.

## Free credit

Every org gets **$5 of free credit per month**. The credit resets on the first of each month and does not roll over. For a typical small team this covers daily dashboard use plus regular CI scripts; you'd only exceed it with heavy AI-agent workloads or repos with extensive history.

## What you're billed for

Two line items:

1. **Pod uptime** — wall-clock minutes your tenant pod was awake. Pods scale to zero after ~10 minutes of inactivity, so weekend silence costs nothing. Sign-in or any API call wakes the pod (cold start: 2–5 seconds the first time, milliseconds after).
2. **Storage** — gigabyte-months of repo + attachments. Most teams sit in the low tens of MB; attachments (datasheets, 3-D models) are the variable.

Network egress, CPU bursts, and pod warm starts are bundled into pod uptime — no separate metering.

## Owner-only

Only members with `owner` role see billing. Admins and below see "Billing — contact your owner" if they navigate there.

## Cancelling

Deleting the org (Settings → Organization → Danger zone) is the cancellation path. There is no "downgrade to free" — every org is on the same metered plan, with the free credit as the floor.
